Kimberly Marchant helps businesses make difficult legal decisions with clarity and confidence. With more than two decades of experience spanning employment and workforce, contracts, compliance, governance, and risk, she brings elite law firm training, extensive in-house experience advising executive leadership at complex organizations, and federal court litigation perspective to a business-focused model designed to provide clear answers, predictable costs, and legal solutions aligned with how businesses actually operate.
Kim spent a decade as in-house counsel at Chesapeake Energy Corporation (now Expand Energy Corp.), an Oklahoma-based oil and gas company operating at Fortune 500 scale, during periods of substantial regulatory oversight, operational complexity, and transactional activity. She was a key legal leader in the $24 billion merger that created North America's largest natural gas producer.
At Chesapeake, Kim built the enterprise contracting function from the ground up — including templates, MSAs, negotiation playbooks, and a program scaled to support more than a thousand procurement contracts annually — and led the contracting team that operated it. She oversaw compliance programs spanning anti-corruption, ethics, conflicts of interest, and sanctions, and developed the framework for the enterprise document-control program through which corporate policies and governance documents were managed — authoring many of those policies and documents herself and overseeing the corporate ones. Kim also served as the primary legal advisor to HR, Supply Chain, IT, and Internal Audit.
Most recently, Kim served as the first and sole in-house lawyer for a privately held, Oklahoma-based manufacturer operating across North America with more than 1,200 employees. She advised senior leadership across the enterprise, while also handling day-to-day legal work traditionally distributed across multiple in-house roles.
Kim established the company's centralized enterprise contracting program, including governance controls, templates, and approval frameworks, while managing contracts across the organization. She developed the enterprise document-control infrastructure and authored foundational corporate policies, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive compliance and ethics program. She also began integrating risk-management principles into the company's contracting and governance work and embedding risk awareness across business functions. Her work included extensive employment counsel involving investigations, performance management, and employment compliance, and co-management of the company's multi-state workers' compensation program. She also managed disputes and litigation, directing strategy and coordinating outside counsel as needed.
Kim began her career at Conner & Winters, one of Oklahoma's premier full-service law firms, primarily defending employers in labor and employment matters in federal court. She later became a partner at Weimer & Marchant, where her practice included representing employees. That dual-sided litigation experience shapes her approach as an advisor to businesses, grounding it in how employment decisions are actually challenged and defended.
